TANF provides temporary cash assistance and many other support services to families.


Eligibility[]

TANF is provided throughout every state to families. You can apply if you are pregnant (in your last trimester) or responsible for a child under the age of 19. Board of Social Services decides eligibility is based on household size and income.

Benefits[]

Cash assistance supplied through EBT cards. Benefits varies on household size - house hold of 2 is about $322 (not always) - household of 4 - $424 (not always)

Requirements[]

To receive assistance you must comply with a plan and participate in work activities for 35 hours a week.

Limitations[]

You cannot receive additional assistance for an infant without being off welfare for 1 year.

You can receive assistance for a maximum of 60 months throughout one's lifetime, but may be eligible for extensions if you are disabled, a caretaker of a disabled child, victim of domestic violence, chronically unemployed or over the age of 60.

You cannot be eligible at all if you receive SSI, another adult in your household receives TANF, you have violated parole or probation, or the dependent child is not living in the home for 90+ days.
